As per the title, who fancies a day out on the bikes. Probably do Hamsterly again unless people want to go somewhere else.

I'm up for it, ever tried biking at Kielder? Presume the blue trails will be back open at Hamsterley again in 2 weeks time.

Kielder sounds good, it's a bit of a trek though. I'll have a look on google maps. Might be doable.

Looking at nearly 2 hours to get to kielder, it is nice up there though.

Looking at nearly 2 hours to get to kielder, it is nice up there though. Took me an hour and 20 each way to get to Hamsterley, if we got to Kielder a little earlier could make a slightly longer day of it or break the ride into two if we brought brews and food. Obviously restricted by the failing light after 3pm

I didn't think it was that far for you. That sounds like a plan coming together, we'll see what others think. I don't mind driving up there if people want to go.

Should be ok for the 12th, if we do go to Kielder.....I can fit 3 bikes on the back and we can share the fuel.

Is 20 miles on a red trail to much?

I'm up for the red trail some epic descents and climbs ooooooo can't wait having said that the 1 1/2 hour climb to the top is a ball ache but the descent is insanely quick

I've been thinking the 2 red trails might be a bit much, how about we do the blue 1st and then the lonesome pine red trail. It will be approx 25 miles.
The blue run shouldn't take to long, maybe 1 1/2 hours. Stop for a spot of lunch after that, then that should leave us about 3 hours to do the red.
Those north shore things look a bit dodgy lol

25 miles? Pfft, got 2 weeks to develop an engine for my bike! I'm done in after 5 miles, tho its the climbs that got me!
Talking of climbs, I'm now 158th on the Strava leaderboard for the pikes teeth climb, the one where my front mech cable detached itself and I walked up!

Funny Dunc been thinking and don't want to come across all know it all but the kielder trails are pretty tough going . Now I've ridden with all who are talking about going and I'm not sure we are up to it the parts of kielder I've ridden are pretty hard going . I've ridden blue and red trails there is loads of climbing and I mean loads . The trail round the lake is good but about 20+ miles

I've just noticed the comment about the 1.5 hour climb to the top of the red trail! I'd better get on the turbo trainer this week to get some practice in
